This October, be rewarded for riding your bike!
City of Maribyrnong, like other workplaces around Maribyrnong and throughout Melbourne, will be participating in the Love to Ride challenge, Biketober 2025. It is a free, fun program where people will be rewarded for riding your bike, and workplaces are rewarded for encouraging their staff to be more active, travel more sustainably more often and prioritise their wellbeing:
RACV assist: By registering for Biketober, you qualify for 12 months of RACV Bike Assist for free! It’s like roadside assist for your bike with 24/7 assistance so you can ride with peace of mind.
Heaps of prizes including:
Workplace morning tea shout
$1,000 Earlybird Cash Prize – Register before 1 October and go in the draw for a $1000 cash prize
Encourager cash prize draw – There are team points and prizes for encouraging, as well as for riding. There is a cash pool of $250 – $1000 cash prizes for people who encourage others. So even those who don’t can’t ride are eligible to take part and join the team.
$4,000 Holiday Grand prize
Biketober is designed to improve health, reduce the carbon impact of travel, and inspire more people to give biking a go – whether it’s for commuting, recreation, or just for the joy of it. That’s something City of Maribyrnong can get behind, and we’d like you to join us. Participating is easy:
Workplaces or groups register to participate and compete as a team in a friendly challenge to for most people riding, with a focus on encouraging less confident riders to give it a go
Staff register and join the workplace team
Team members log any ride of 10 minutes or more during October 2025
Every ride logged and encouragement given earns points for the team. There are fantastic prizes to be won for individuals and workplaces including a $4,000 holiday of your choice, cash prizes and workplace morning tea shouts.
