Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026
1226Bike is run by 1221 Pty Ltd. This page explains what personal information we collect through www.1226.bike, how we use it, and how to contact us about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We collect personal information when you:
- Book a course. Your name, email address, phone number, and the details of the course you booked. Payment is handled by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on our website.
- Join a waiting list. Your name, email, phone number, and preferred venue.
- Send an instructor enquiry. Your name, email, phone number, suburb, and availability.
- Browse the site. Cookies and similar tools collect technical information such as your device type, the pages you visit, and your approximate location. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
We only collect what we need to run the courses. We don’t ask for sensitive information.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Process your booking and payment
- Contact you about a course you’ve booked or asked about
- Let you know when a spot opens up if you’re on a waiting list
- Answer your enquiries
- Understand how the website and our advertising perform
We don’t sell your information. We don’t send marketing emails, and we don’t share customer lists with advertisers.
Cookies and analytics
We use three tools that set cookies or collect usage data:
- Google Analytics measures how people find and use the site.
- Google Tag Manager manages the measurement tools on the site.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel tells us whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and bookings.
These tools are run by Google and Meta, and the data they collect is also handled under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and adjust ad settings in your Facebook account.
Who else sees your information
- Stripe processes payments.
- Google and Meta receive the analytics and ad measurement data described above.
- Our team and contractors see your details only when needed to run your booking or maintain the website.
That’s it. We never sell, rent, or trade your information.
Where your information is stored
Our website is hosted in Australia. Form submissions are stored on our website system and emailed to us. Some of the services we use (Stripe, Google, Meta) are global companies and may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, it’s covered by those companies’ own privacy safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet tax and accounting rules. Waiting list and enquiry details are kept only while they’re useful, and we’ll delete them if you ask.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and limited access to customer records. No online system is completely secure, but we keep the amount of information we hold small, which limits the risk.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (unless we’re legally required to keep it). Email sales@1226.bike or call +61 497 084 527 and we’ll sort it out.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your information, contact us first and we’ll do our best to fix it within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
