Get Paid to Talk Bikes, Fix Problems & Help Riders Ride Better
Turn your hands-on skills and love of cycling into a flexible, well-paid weekend role—no bike mechanic background required.
Earn $275 per 3-hour session while teaching real-world maintenance skills riders actually use.
We provide the structure and training—you bring the energy, practicality, and passion for bikes
most cyclists are riding around on bikes that aren’t quite right
Gears clicking but not shifting. Brakes that technically work… but don’t inspire confidence. Chains crying out for attention
You’ve probably fixed these issues a hundred times—on your own bike, a mate’s bike, maybe even a stranger’s mid-ride. Not because it’s your job, but because you can
That’s exactly the kind of person we’re looking for
We run BYO bicycle tuning & maintenance short courses—practical, no-nonsense sessions where everyday riders learn how to properly look after their bikes. And we’re hiring trainers to lead them
Here’s the important bit
You don’t need to be a professional bike mechanic.
If you’re practical, confident with tools, and genuinely love cycling, we’ll teach you how to deliver the course. We’ve built a structured program and provide full training, so you’re never winging it
What the Role Looks Like
You’ll run 3-hour, hands-on workshops, mostly on weekends, guiding small groups through the essentials:
- Dialling in gears so they actually shift cleanly
- Fixing and adjusting brakes for real stopping power
- Cleaning and lubing chains properly (not just spraying and hoping)
- Understanding the rear wheel and how it all comes together
- & lots more besides!
It’s practical, interactive, and surprisingly rewarding. You’re not just teaching—you’re giving people confidence they didn’t have before
What You Get
$275 per 3-hour session
Flexible, mostly weekend work
Full training and structured course delivery (no guesswork)
The chance to turn your cycling passion into something tangible

- Your own ute or van (you’ll transport equipment)
- An ABN

- Strong communication skills—you can explain things simply and clearly
- Each position is in one city. You’ll need a wllingness to work across that city. Cities include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra & Adelaide
This Is Perfect For
This suits someone who’s always been “the bike person” in their circle
You enjoy working with your hands. You like solving problems… And you get a quiet satisfaction from seeing something work properly again
You don’t need to be the fastest rider or the most technical expert in the room. But you do need to care about doing things right, following our system—and helping others get confidence & skills
Cycling is booming. But too many riders feel disconnected from their bikes—reliant, unsure, hesitant.
When someone understands their bike, everything changes. They ride more. They ride further. They trust the machine beneath them.
That’s what you’ll be part of
