Large Cannnondale CAAD4 Monstercross with hydraulic Ultegra groupset, DT Swiss XR4.2D 26” wheels & FUNN 50 wide gravel dropbars
This one is one of our best. It weighs about 10 kg. The wheels have 2.2 tyres which give it a very similar circumference to 27.5 wheels with gravel tyres. The riding position is similar to a modern gravel bike. It has a road cassette as it’s set up for longer rides. It can sit comfortably at 25 kph all day long. The fatty fork is smooth & the lockout works great.
Over the past couple of years the only work it’s done is riding up & down the halls at the Maribyrnong 1226 workshop & is often the bike that’s used for teaching gear tuning at our courses so it’s super tight & super tuned!
Fork works great including the lockout, wheels spin for days, gears are super crisp & the brakes stop on a dime
It can ride roads, gravel & a bit of single tracking. It’s built to roll up & down gutters, smash through potholes & bully it’s way through anything you can throw at it whether you’re on your way to work or heading out bush. A true all rounder! Did I mention 10 kg??
